Welcome to No County Left Behind! This blog will follow the campaign of Gena Ross to turn the 6th congressional district of Missouri blue. Originally from Minneapolis, Minnesota, Ross has been a Missouri resident for the last 12 years. 10 of those 12 years have been spent in Platte City, where Ross’ three children attended public high school. Ross became a Missouri educator after earning her Ph.D. in Public Policy & Administration from Walden University in Minneapolis. She currently works an Assistant Professor of Business at Kansas City Kansas Community College. Ross is very new to politics. In early August, she won a five-way race for the Democratic nomination after receiving 32.8% of the votes in the primary. (KMAland) She is facing Sam Graves, the district’s Republican incumbent. Over the course of election season, this blog will cover updates to Ross’ campaign and platform. We aim to introduce her positions on important issues, and will have special election coverage in November.
