It has been an honor following Dr. Gena Ross in her congressional race. As a team, we have enjoyed learning more about the candidates and Missouri’s 6th district. Through research, we have learned what is important to voters and the issues that really impact rural Missourians. As college students, we have really appreciated this deep look into this election and everything that goes into a run for political office. Running for office is time-consuming, expensive, and requires candidates to display a certain level of vulnerability. Writing about Dr. Ross’ campaign is an experience that we found immensely informative, and we will use what we learned in our future endeavors. We really felt passionate about this election and truly wanted to see Gena Ross represent this district in Congress. While this outcome didn’t occur, we are thankful she had the courage to run, and we wish her the best of luck. We hope to see her name on another ballot as soon as possible! As for Congressman Sam Graves, we wish him the best of luck. We are excited to see what he does in his next term, and we hope that he adopts Dr. Ross’s motto of “No County Left Behind”.
