The climate crisis is one of the most prominent election issues for this year. This is something that we as a team feel very passionately about, and after a lot of research, we know that Dr. Gena Ross is the candidate that we trust in taking on this issue. Let us first preface this posting by stating that climate change is very real. We can see the effects of it almost every time we look at the news. We have witnessed the catastrophic wildfires in the western states and the ice melting in Antarctica. The National Aeronautics and Space Administration is a great source to read about the many provable examples on how climate change is real and affecting us The consequences of climate change include rising temperatures and disastrous weather patterns. This could lead to flooding and heavy rainfall. Both of these consequences would be detrimental to the economy of Missouri’s 6th district. According to the National Climate Assessment, crop production would fall significantly due to extreme weather. Rainfall has also increased over the last century leading to erosion, declining water quality, and negative impacts on transportation, agriculture, human health, and infrastructure. We desperately need to make a change in our actions, and that change starts with our elected officials. That is why we need Gena Ross. Ross believes that she can tackle climate change while also helping our economy back onto its feet. She vowed the create clean energy jobs for this district. According to Gena Ross in a recent video, Missouri’s 6th district has 3,537 clean energy jobs. She wants to create even more. She also believes that we need to work to create clean air for this generation and future generations to come. Sam Graves does not believe that.
In 2019, Sam Graves voted against clean air and our environment by voting “No” in House Rollcall 381. This bill would have extended extends compliance deadlines for rules under the Clean Air Act that addressed carbon dioxide emissions from existing fossil fuel-fired power plants. In her recent video, Gena Ross talked about how a majority of Missouri’s 6th district wants a change in how we address our climate. As voters, we can not just sit back and say we want change. We need to act and vote out the people who refuse to address the ongoing climate crisis. Climate change affects all of us especially the younger generation. If you are young, you are voting for your future. If you are older, then you are voting for your kids or your grandkids’ future. Tell us @Ross4Congress on why you are voting for Ross!
